Hi
In order to take the exam for the COPC, do you have to be a CPC first?
Thank you
Thank you!No, you do not have to have a CPC to take an AAPC specialty exam.
It is recommended that you have 2 years of experience in your specialty to have the best chance of success on the exam. (Recommended, though not required.)
I am having a tough time finding COPC CEU opportunities! Any suggestions?
If you subscribe to the Ophthalmology Newsletter, about $180 per year, which comes out monthly, you can take a test on the monthly newsletter contents and get 0.5 credits per test for a total of 6 per year. I've found the newsletter excellent and it covers lots of great topics. I also ask out local group CE committee to get approval for COPC credits for some of the topics covered in our monthly meetings. Our annual ICD update and CPT update courses both count for COPC. In general AAPC doesn't provide many, if any courses for COPC recertification.I am having a tough time finding COPC CEU opportunities! Any suggestions?
