patient is taking Oral contraceptive pill for other hormonal problems (irreg menstruation,excessive bleeding etc.,).Now she wants to continue to use pills as her cntraceptive method Can I use V25.41 survillence of ....OCP or being this is an initial as contraceptive method should I use V25.01

Good question. I am leaning towards V25.41. I am leaning that way because of the wording "previously prescribed contraceptive". Whether or not it was her method of contraception previously, doesn't change that it was in fact a contraceptive that was previous prescribed. Using the V25.01 makes it sound as though this is just now being prescribed. I will be curious to see how others view this. Those are my thoughts.

I have to agree, I feel it would be the V25.41, the medication is the same, the side effects won't change. They should have counceled her on all that when they prescribed the first time. My thoughts only!! Let us know what you decide please?
