My doc saw patient in office, patient had infection, so my doc called hospital and asked pcp to admit patient on same day. MY doc then also did "consult" for same day in hospital dictation. patient had surgery next day.
What should I charge, office visit? I can't charge admit because MY doc did not actually admit, the pcp did at request of my doc. I can't wrap my mind around charging consult, a doctor cannot request a consult from himself?
So I am thinking I will charge office visit with decision for surgery.
