Should a provider and a hospital be billing for conscious sedation, now that it is no longer bundled into procedures?
 
Yes, the facility would charge for the conscious sedation if the nurse is performing the independent monitoring of the patient. Please read the CPT guidelines for the correct CPT code and to make sure you have the documentation needed to support the charge.
