Hi All,
Could someone help me with coding the following scenario ?
1-
Wide local of basal cell carcinoma of the chest, excise diameter 4 cm
The lesion was raised off of the subcutaneous tissues and the muscle aponeurosis with electrocautery excised, marked, and sent for pathology permanent section.
Dermis and subcutaneous tissues were approximated with 3-0 Vicryl with inverted knot stitches. Skin was approximated with Dermabond.
2-
Two big sebaceous cysts present to the back, one in the mid back almost in the center and one lower into the left, both of them are about 3 cm in size.
both lesions were wedge excised and resected subcutaneously
Deeper tissues were approximated with Vicryl sutures 3-0 and the skin eventually with 5-0 Prolene.
Confusion in both the case is as follows
Both the basal cell carcinoma and sebaceous cysts are skin lesions.
But they are excised subcutaneous level or till muscle aponeurosis.
My question is that should I coded this with 114xx, 116xx series or 2xxxx series.
Please help.........
Thanks
