Got a question for any one who knows and understands the MDM and a patient being committed. I have a patient that is refusing their medication, the patient dx is Catatonic schizophrenia. The patient is being committed. Says nothing about self harm or suicidal.
Would the commitment be from the Nature of Presenting Illness "Acute or Chronic illnesses or injuries that may pose a threat to life or bodily function e.g psychiatric illness w/potential threat to self or others
or without the SI or other self harm would this be a moderate complexity "one or more chronic illness with mild exacerbation, progression, or side affects of treatment.....
anyone have an idea??
