Hello, I have a provider that I am coding a colonoscopy for that is wanting to bill for a cold biopsy with an ablation. The only documentation in the OP report is: 2 polyps in the rectosigmoid; performed cold forceps biopsy; induced coagulation and hemostasis achieved with bipolar cautery.
It is my opinion that the only thing we should be billing for is CPT 45380. Let me know your thoughts and if I am missing something. Thanks in advance!

Hi! In my opinion. The way it is written, sounds like they did biopsies then cauterized to prevent bleeding or control bleeding? If that is the case then I agree, 45380 which includes any control of bleeding techniques.
