A question has come up in our office in regards to a bioTheranostics Cancer Type ID test result coming back with a 60% chance of the primary site being biliary tract cancer. Before this test we were using a dx of unknown primary tumor, but are now wondering if this test is giving us enough to code for primary of biliary tract. Doctors dictation states favored and felt to be. Us coders here are saying because of the doctors wording we can't code for the biliary tract, and need to continue to use the unknown primary code. And helpful insight on this would be apprecitated. Thanks!
