Job Description

Coding /Billing Supervisor is responsible for direct supervision of the Coding/Billing team in the Billing Department. This position supports the Billing Manager in the daily management of the Coding/Billing staff. The Coding/Billing Supervisor manages and leads the Coding/Billing Department staff, including hiring, performance management, orientation and training, and completion of annual individual learning conversations and aspects of daily operations. Lead with retention in mind. Work in partnership and joint accountability with other lead team members to achieve Neighborcare Health's Mission and Guiding Principles and goals.

Required Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT Codes, ICD9 and ICD10 codes.Knowledge of CMS coding guidelines and LCD billing rules.
Knowledge of CCI claims edits.
Knowledge of Billing.Knowledge and understanding of Official Coding Guidelines and Reporting.Knowledge of Inpatient and Outpatient Billing.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and patient records, designing forms, 10 Key and data entry.Knowledge of HIPAA/Confidential policies and Procedures.
Knowledge of Government and Third party insurance payers.
Ability to understand and interpret Practice Management Systems and Electronic Health Record Systems.

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent training and/or equivalent experience in patient accounting
AAPC or AHIMA certification required
2 years medical service compliance and coding experience with a minimum of 1 year supervisor experience
2 years of experience in medical patient billing system including entry of charges and payments
