Looking for coding/modifier for closed treatment of a humeral shaft fracture which became unstable and needed ORIF. We are having difficulty getting paid for the ORIF. Thanks Susan
Have you tried modifier 58 "Staged or related procedure....."? The definition says that the procedure could be more extensive than the original which would fit. This is the one I use and haven't had any problems.
