How do coders out there handle coding microfracture of the hip, which would use an unlisted code, when also billing acetabuloplasty and femoroplasty? Is the microfracture considered inclusive? Or would the unlisted code be billed? I am trying to find some documentation that says microfracture is inclusive but I am having no luck! Input anyone?

A microfracture of the hip (29999) should be separately payable. I always reported but, as usual, had difficluty getting paid. It really is unrelated to a rim trim (acetabuloplasty). I would bill, appeal, and if at a certain point w/o the procedure.
