Wiki coding metabolic syndrome

Physicians in my facility are split when coding metabolic syndrome. Can I code hypertension, diabetes, along with obesity with the metabolic syndrome code? I know these are manifestations, but some physicians feel they can just use the metabolic syndrome code, and not the others. Any thoughts?
Also, I work in a state psychiatric hospital, so many on psychotropic drugs.
