My patient has pneumonia in multiple lobes of the lungs. I use J18.1 Lobar pneumonia, unspecified organism, but is there a code to report multiple lobes? Or do I need to enter the code once per lobe?

That is possible correct dx code J18.1 but does not lab report associated for the patient tell you type of bacteria? Once read lab results it should be listed. or use dx code define Pneumonia and bacteria such as dx J15.3 to J15.7 . Some examples of bacteria are Coronavirus dx B97.21 Staphylococcus B95.6 or Strep Group A dx B95.0 or dx B96.89 other bacterial agents as examples. No code to report multiple lobes other than dx J18.1. Id code J18.1 & more detailed listing the bacteria lab results
