When a patient has bariatric surgery or is no longer on medications for diabetes and has normal blood sugars how do you code for diabetes, do you continue to code for diabetes even though the patient receives no treatment for the condition

Diabetes

Even though patient is not under medication we need to continue using 250.xx for the patient as its a chronic metabolic disease, it cannot be cured but only controlled.

Shruthi
