Coder-Certified - UC Physicians - Radiology(Job Number: 022300)

General Description of the Job
Provide coding and billing services for a large radiology practice.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

1.Assign CPT and ICD9 codes to all types of radiology procedures. This will include MRI, CT, Ultrasound, general radiology, PET, Nuclear medicine and Interventional Radiology procedures
2.Monitor reports for compliance and report any issues to coding manager.
3.Work TES claim edits as needed.
4.Work Coder review files as needed and provide additional information needed to bill claims.
5.Maintain coding certification and recertify in ICD10 prior to October 2014.
6.Communicate with physicians and residents regarding additional information needed in reports.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma required, completion of a medical coding and billing program.

Experience:
Two to three years of medical coding and billing experience in Radiology required.

Degrees, Licensure,
and/or Certification: Certified Professional Coder, Radiology Certified Coder or CPC-A with appropriate additional experience.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of coding, billing and compliance. Familiarity with ICD10. Must be able to work independently, communicate in a professional manner with physicians and administrative staff and be dependable.
