Wiki Coding a confirmed case of swine flu

My co-workers and I were discussing how we would code a confirmed case of swine flu. We work for a managed care/home care business in Wisconsin and have close to 2000 members including elderly and handicapped. There are no confirmed cases in Wisconsin yet, but are looking at the what ifs? Thank You!

I would think 487.X category due to there is no offical swine flu code, I bet there will be in next yrs book

Thank you! The 487.x is all we were coming up with too and seemed to be the concensus among all of us. I would be surprised if there wasn't a code in the books next year.
