 I am new to gastro coding, and I have an instance where 5 small polyps in the right colon were removed with electrocautery, and a large sessile polyp in the descending colon were removed with the polypectomy snare. Would I code as 45385 & 45383-51,59? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance. :)

If the 5 polyps that were "removed" with electrocautery were actually destroyed then yes bill 45383 and then 45385-59. If these polyps were actually removed, I feel like the appropriate code would be 45385 (snare) then 45384-59 (colonoscopy, with removal of tumro(s), polyp(s), or other lesions by hot biopsy forceps or bipolar cautery. 45383 is for destruction. Hope thats helpful.
