[FONT=&quot]Must be familiar with CMS website and how to navigate website for Medicare policy, billing rules and coding changes[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Must have expertise in reviewing and assigning accurate ICD-9-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures as follows: for surgical procedures, evaluation and management office and hospital visits, in-office diagnostic procedures and tests

[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Proficiency in understanding how to accurately apply CPT surgical modifiers[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]A sound understanding of medical coding guidelines, health care policy, coding and medical record compliance[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]A sound understanding of the Medicare RBRVS fee schedule, private payer and Medicare reimbursement guidelines
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Expertise of how to successfully appeal denied claims for payment[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Understanding of how to integrate CPT coding and payment policies into a practice?s reimbursement[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Must have strong knowledge and experience with all major insurance carriers including in network/out of network services[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]
[/FONT]
CPT, ICD9, HCFA 1500 experience, and experience with multiple payers including electronic processing of claims



Preferred expertise in orthopedic specialty billing, coding and reimbursement
Must have proof of current AHIMA or AAPC coding certification and/or credential


Athena experience would be preferred 5 + years of experience
