Received a denial from Work Comp Carrier for this injection code.(96372) The Explanation given is 906 "In accordance with Clinical Based Coding Edits (National Corrext Coding Initiative/Outpatient Code Editor), Component Code of Comprehensive Medicine, E/M services procedure (90000-99999) has been disallowed.
This service was billed under the physician, but the physician assistant was who dictated the note. Although it was made clear he was under the direct supervision of the physician...It was not clear as to whom gave the injection.
I know this code can only be reported when "under direct supervision of physician".
Does anyone have any thoughts?
