I am having an issue with UHC taking money back on a circumcision we performed in office. They are stating in the request
"procedure code 54161 identified by CMS as rarely or never performed in a non-facility setting."
This circumcision was performed on a 77 year old man with phimosis. I cannot find any CMS documentation on circumcisions much less where they can/cannot be performed. Can anyone direct me to the right place? Has anyone else had this problem with UHC?
