I'm having a hard time with this procedure today. Any takers?

The area of interest is on the radial aspect of the incision and was then incised about 3mm. It was noted to have a little bleb of pus that was expressible. Tracking down the pus and ellipticizing the edge it was noted that there was a deep 0 Vicryl type suture that was still very adherent and firm. It was anchored deep in the periosteum. The suture was then entirely removed with thorough curettage of the surrounding soft tissue. The wound was then irrigated thoroughly prior to closure.

This procedure was performed on the left thumb.

Thanks for your help!
