We are currently hiring a Charge Description Coordinator to be responsible for the maintenance of The Johns Hopkins Hospital Charge Description Master (CDM). The Charge Description Manager will work with administrative/clinical management of departments to review and revise the CDM and charge tickets. You will also conduct training sessions for clinical personnel on proper charge entry and communicate to clinical administration changes in coding and billing requirements. The Charge Description Coordinator will also assist clinical administration in implementation of CDM changes and assist patient financial services in CDM-related and claim problem resolutions. Additionally, you will coordinate all necessary activities to ensure up to date CDM and charge tickets and communication regulatory changes pertinent to each specific department across JHH outpatient departments.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Care related fields, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 6 years of coding and clinical documentation experience in an acute hospital environment, at least 2 years must be in mid-level management capacity
• CPC-H, CPC or CCS Coding Certification
• Excellent knowledge of medical terminology, billing requirements and health care information systems
• Must have complete and thorough understanding of ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS, and UB04 codes along with their assignment and compatibility
