The Charge Capture Specialist II oversees the integrity of the Charge Descriptions Masters (CDM) and maintains direct responsibility for the updates to certain department charge codes within the CDM. The Coordinator II monitors key metrics and reports to ensure all activities are being completed by staff timely and accurately. The Coordinator II oversees the Specialists and other staff of the CDM group, and the Defense audit group, oversees the daily maintenance, regular updates, price impact analysis and coordinates all changes implemented in the Charge Description Masters, with the Directorship and operating departments. This position is also responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all concurrent and defense audits of patient bills for all assigned facilities. The Coordinator II conducts quality and productivity reviews of staff members and provides feedback on performance. The Coordinator II also participates in the hiring and disciplining of staff members. This position is also responsible for organizing, scheduling, and supervising staff to ensure adequate coverage, as well as prompt responses to issues, concerns, and/or complaints.
Required Minimum Education:

BA or BS, preferably in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or High School with equivalent work experience.

Certified Coding required.
Required Minimum Experience:
Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in healthcare preferred, including significant experience specialized in insurance and follow-up

Required Minimum Skills:
a. Broad proven practical experience in professional billing, follow-up, and customer service
b. Knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to collection processes and procedures
c. Knowledge of and skill in the use of computers and related systems and software
d. Knowledge of insurance plan payment practices and billing requirements
e. Knowledge of and detailed understanding of all negotiated agreements
f. Skill in problem solving in a variety of settings
g. Skill in motivating and directing the work and activities of staff with the ability to effectively delegate
h. Skill in providing leadership
i. Skill in technical and professional accounting
j. Skill in good oral, written, and interpersonal communication, grammar and spelling
k. Skill in time management and project management
l. Ability to act with minimal supervision, notice or direction to identify and resolve problems and complete tasks
m. Ability to set climate for performance at optimum levels
n. Ability to establish and maintain a cohesive work team
o. Ability to work efficiently under pressure
