Medical Coders ? Anesthesia, Emergency Med, Neo, Rad, and Office Based

Sheridan Healthcorp, Inc., one of the most experienced and successful Healthcare Management companies in Florida, has an excellent opportunity for experienced and/or Certified Medical Coders to join our Revenue Cycle Management Department at our corporate offices. We are centrally located in the Sawgrass Technology Park, just minutes from the Sawgrass Mills Mall in Sunrise, FL.

The Medical Coders on these teams analyze, verify and code medical records from E/Ms, diagnosis guidelines and surgical procedures received by our Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Neonatology outpatient and inpatient services; or analyze, verify and code medical records from our Office Based or Radiology specialty practices to their highest CPT and Diagnosis levels. These records are then submitted to the Reimbursement Departments at our corporate office in Sunrise for claim submission and billing.
To be considered, candidates must have the following qualifications:
? Nationally recognized Coding Certification and 2 or more years of Anesthesia, Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, or Office Based coding experience, OR 2 or more years of Anesthesia, Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, Radiology, or Office Based coding experience in a high production environment AND already in process of studying w/ AAPC / AHIMA to get Certified within 6 months of start date
? Knowledge of medical terminology
? Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel, and DX knowledgeable
? Analytical mindset, with great attention to detail
? Self-motivated, with proven ability to code with speed and accuracy
? Solid verbal and written communication skills
? Team player with great interpersonal skills
? ICD10 coding experience &/or Certification is highly preferred, but not required
In Addition:
? For Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or Neonatology Coders:
? Inpt/Outpt surgical Hospital based coders
? This is not coding with ASA codes (generalized surgical codes that cross over)
? Coding in a Surgeon?s office would be a plus
? Anes: Need to know how to apply ICD-9 (diagnosis) and CPT-4 (procedure) codes and modifiers, surgical coding cases for all modalities and multi-specialties
? ED/NEO: Need to know how to read a record and code Evaluation & Mgmt codes (E/Ms) and procedures from those ED or NEO charts
? For Radiology Coders:
? 2 or more years of Diagnostic Radiology coding & 1 or more years of Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) coding experience
? CIRCC (Certified Interventional Radiology Cardiology Coder) highly preferred
? For Office Based Coders:
? 1 or more years of pain management or Ob/Gyn coding experience
? Need to know how to read a record and code Evaluation & Management codes (E/Ms) and how to apply ICD-9 (diagnosis) and CPT-4 (procedure) codes and modifiers
Education / Experience:
? High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 or more years of experience as detailed above
? Current CPC, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RMC, CIRCC &/or CANPC Certification is strongly recommended
