Summary
Responsible for entering and coding patient services into Allscripts EHR/EMR and other duties associated with coding, billing, etc. Sorts and files paperwork and submits insurance claims.
Primary Responsibilities:
Compensation $13 to $25 per hour depending on experience

Primary Responsibilities:
- Translate patient information and physician's notes into alphanumeric medical code
- Collect, post and manage patient account payments
- Submit claims to insurance
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Code patient services and enter into computer
- Sort and file paperwork
- Ensure healthcare facilities are reimbursed for all procedures
- Handle information about patient treatment, diagnosis and related procedures to ensure proper coding
- Know several different coding systems, including ICD10
- Use computers to read and organize charts
- Investigate insurance fraud and report if found
