Does a physician need to state that the cell block was contributory to the disgnosis by stating for example..."cell block did contribute to the diagnosis" or add in the header thin prep and cell block negative for malignancy....or is just stating a cell blcok was prepared in the gross scetion support the charge??

I'm rather late in responding. I think the physician needs to render some sort of interpretation of the cell block if you are going to charge globally for it.
