Wiki Category II and III codes help

I recently took the CPC exam. I was tripped up on the questions that included the category 2 and 3 codes because I don't know the circumstances to use them for. Can someone please explain to me when they're needed? I've read their guidelines, but still don't entirely understand. Thanks!
