Question: We have a orthopedic doctor who is evaluting patients, determining the patient may have a fracture, sending the patient to the hospital for the xray and cast application. He is billing for the fracture f/u up care code of 25600 everytime he sees the patient. Does this seem correct?

Wait...he's billing 25600 more than once within 90 days? Because 25600 carries a 90 day global so there is no way he can be billing that multiple times within a 90 day period.
So No, that does not seem correct to me.

In order for him to bill a 25600 at all, he is stating he provided "fracture care." He treated that fracture and is taking responsibility of that fracture for 90 days now.
I can't see how he can bill for this, if he's sending the patient to the hospital for x-rays and casting. Possibly if he saw the initial X-rays, treated them for the fracture and then sent them to the hospital for post reduction X-rays and casting.
For the follow up visits, he must now charge a 99024 for the follow up visits. Dx should be aftercare of fracture codes distal radius healing traumatic fx V54.12.
