I need to get this clear a mud!!
I work for a hospital that has an outpatient cardiology office. The Doctor does his cardioversions in the ER. What can the Doctor charge through the out patient billing and what does the hospital get to charge. I have been billing the cardioversion through the outpatient billing for the doctor. What then the hospital is left with just the drugs. Is that correct or how should we be billing this.
Thanks for any help!!

You are correct in billing the cardioversion for your MD. This is being done electively, correct? As long as your MD has discussed risks, etc and the patient signs consent forms, you are okay.
