Can this labrum debridment be coded with
29824 and 29826?

"Labrum was noted to be frayed and partially torn anteriorly.
Throuh an anterior portal, a shaver was inserted and the frayed labral tissue removed. No other abnormaltities around the labral area were noted.

Attention was then directed to the subacromial space. it was noted to be narrowed with a thickened bursa persent. The anterior portal was being used for the limited debridement of the shoulder, the lateral portal was used and 4.0 shaver was inserted and a bursetomy was performed.

an Arthorcare was then used to shave the subacromial spur and AC arthritis. Using a 5.52 bur, an anterior acromionectomy was performed removing the spurand a portion of th acromion. the AC joint was identified and noted to have arthritic spur and impingemnt. User the shaver, the distal clavical was resected from teh undersurface."

As long as the doctor dictates the Distal Clavicle resection effectively removed bone, then you can definitely code it. We have a doctor who occasionally dictates he cleans up the area and not resect the clavicle and removed bone versus removing a couple cm of distal clavicle bone.

The arthroscopic subacromial decompression (29826) is definitely billable with the arthroscopic distal clavicle (29824).
