Wiki Can ICD10 code Z09 be used as admitting/primary in an outpatient wound care center for follow up after all wounds have healed?

I am catching up the coding for our outpatient wound care center. Several of the patients end up with wounds fully healed, but get scheduled to come back for follow up to ensure that they remain healed. Is code Z09 allowed for this purpose? If not, how should I code for a diabetic leg ulcer that is no longer there?

Yes, it is a valid primary diagnosis, and is appropriate in the situation you describe where the condition being treated was documented as having already been resolved at a prior encounter.
