Hello all, I want to know if an individual provider can accept cash payments only and not accept insurance if the facility he/she is working at accepts insurances?

My opinion: while it may be feasible depending on the type of facility, type of service and which payor, it may not be an easy process to do within compliance.
For example, if the facility is an emergency room, then no, it's not really possible. If the insurance is Medicare, the provider must opt out and follow a very specific process and cannot charge more than a certain amount. If by facility, you really mean provider group, then if the group commercial insurance contract allows, it is possible for one provider to be non-par.
Many states also have no surprise bill regulations.
If this is something you are implementing, you should obtain legal advice to ensure you are in compliance.
