Has anyone ever heard about a midwife clinic adding their tax id # to another provider's contract at a different location and bill out the claims without the provider's name and credentials listed anywhere in the claim?
So for example. Midwife practice tax id is 111110000 and they want to add that tax id to my providers insurance contracts and bill out without any of my provider's info listed anywhere on the claim. They plan on billing out with the tax id 111110000 and with the corresponding midwifes npi.
I don't see how this is possible being that we are just adding the tax id and not each midwife npi to our provider's insurance contract. Is there anyone out there that might have a clue to how this works or even if it doesn't. I need help with this.
