Wiki can 22 modifier be used on ob global codes?

Hi, My doc provided >12 hrs work on a labor and delivery and is billing the global code for delivery/postpartum care. Can we append a 22 modifier onto the global code and charge extra for the extra time spent?

If you attempt to bill the global charge with a -22 modifier, make sure you attach records that clearly shows the extra work the provider put in which is considered above and beyond the normal for that CPT code. It will come down to whether the insurance company will accept that documentation and pay your provider more for his extra work.
