Good morning coders
Doc reported dx as right subtrochanteric fx nonunion with cephalomedullary screw cutout. Patient previously sustained a subtrochanteric hip fx which was fixed with a gamma nail.
He reported the procedures as removal of hardware - gamma nail.
Insertion of a calcar replacing hemiarthroplasty.
ORIF of greater trochanter using trochanteric cable plate.
The codes I had in mind were 27236 and 20680 for removal of hardware. I do not see in the edits that the ORIF of the greater trochanter however it seems logical that it would be.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
