I have a doctor that wants me to find a diagnosis code for this and I have been unable to locate anything.. the message I received was to find a code for CADASIL (inherited CNS arteriopathy).....

The chart note reads: "New dx CADASIL in past month. Extensive ischemic changes on MRI"

Patient also has a family history:
"Father: deceased CADASIL (inherited arteriopathy with dementia and leukoencephalopathy)"
" Brother(s): CADASIL"

Can anyone help with this please??

Re:ICD/CADASIL

CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy With Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy)
CADASIL is caused by a mutation in the NOTCH3 gene on chromosome 19q12
I'd code: 758.5 + 437.1+V19.5

Rationale:
Per ICD guideline chap 14 congenital Anomalies
When a congenital anomaly does not have a unique code assignment, assign additional code( s) for any manifestations that are present.

Anomaly / chromosome/ Autosomes NEC= 758.5
+
MANIFESTATION (Extensive ischemic changes on MRI)= 437.1

F/H congenital anomaly =V19.5

Thanks
