Our doctor did a laparoscopic gastric bypass on a patient and also did an incarcerated umbilical hernia repair as well. I believe that these are separately payable. There are no CCI edits to say they are bundled but I am getting pushback from Billing that only the bypass is payable. What do you all think? Suggestions?

If a hernia is performed through the same site as another open or lap procedure, then it cannot be reported separately. Please see guidance from Medicare NCCI Manual.
