Wiki Bx specimen billing

I have a question. I do not know how to bill for the prostate biopsy for commercial plans and not medicare. I have been told to use 88305 x 12.
Does anyone know if this correct? I know the CPT codes for the physician billing but not the specimens going to the lab.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

In general, that is true. However, in our area, some private insurers want us to use G0416 as we do for Medicare. I think you will need to check with your insurer.
