For patients undergoing breast reconstruction via the Brava Bra I bill 19366 for the initial fat graft injection and then will use 19499( using 20926 for comparison) for subsequent breast injections.
The insurance company is denying the subsequent procedures billed w/ 19499; stating that breast reconstruction via fat graft is still considered experimental and investigatonal. Should I bill 19366 each time the patient is taken back to the OR for addtl fat injections? I was under the impression that this could only be billed for the initial procedure.
Any input is grately appreciated!!!
