Brace question:

Our office has a company that supplies and stocks our office with braces [DME].

However, it is the physician or nurse who does the actual application/fitting of the brace.
Can I bill for this application?

Let's say it is a post op appointment [no charge], and the doctors puts the patient in a range of motion brace.

We never do (assuming this is the only reason the patient is in the office) and we supply a ton a DME from an outside source.

But then, our providers don't apply/fit DME. We have a rep from the supplier that travels between our 4 office locations who normally does and when she's not there, we have trained CMAs who stand in.

So again, we don't charge for application/fitting of DME, but then, this might just be a "free service" we are giving our patients as a way of saying thank you for choosing us for your ortho needs.
