Hoping to get some guidance. Here is the procedure that was done.

Procedure: Cervical Trigger Point Injections with Botox Time-out was taken to identify the correct patient, procedure and side prior to starting the procedure. The patient was placed in the prone/sitting position. Sterile prep and drape was utilized in order to reduce the risk of infection. Once the patient's trigger point(s) were identified, the areas were injected with a total of 200 units of Botox, using a 27 gauge needle. The procedure was completed bilaterally at the cervical paraspinal muscles and trapezius muscles. No Botox was wasted today.

Would this be coded with the trigger point injection codes or the chemodenervation codes, since it's Botox? Thank you!

Botoxone - Maybe this will help. I believe it would be chemo/nerve codes. I found this website to most helpful! - any chance you might be able to help with billing two new pt visits with different specialties on different days - but all under the same NPI???

The admin code is 64616 if you are injecting Botox for Cervial dystonia/spasmodic torticollis. Also if you are buying and billing the Botox, be sure the payer reimburses your actual cost for the product, as some will not to push you to Specialty Pharmacy.
