If I finish my study courses Dec 2010 and take exam the first of the year 2011 which books will I need? Should I go ahead and purchase the 2011 bundle??

All test are based on the current year, so if you take your test in Jan. 2011 it is advised that you have 2011 coding books as the test will be based on that years coding guidelines. Hope this helps.

CPC exam preparation

Thanks for bringing up this topic!

I have a similiar question Judy....

I graduated in 2009 with a Medical Office specialist degree, but have not gotten my certifications in anything yet. Since then, I've enrolled in an RHIT program and have a CPT 2010 manual. I also have the ICD-9-CM manual (2008), and an HCPCS expert level II (2005).

My question is, is if I study for the CPC examination now..and prepare to take the exam in October (or even after October but definitely within the 2011 year), will I be okay studying with the manuals I have? I am going to order a Study guide, and then when it comes time to take the test...I'll definitely have the 2011 Manuals. OR, should I just order the 2011 bundle now and study with them instead? I'm not sure when they are available.

Thanks!

Sonja T.
