Wiki bone culture

My physician performed a bone culture of the finger to rule out osteomyelitis. What would be the correct CPT code for this?

Without seeing the Operative Report for the "entire" procedure done, this would be hard to answer. If he took bone fragments/tissue at the time of a larger procedure such as Incision, Debridement, and Drainage of the finger for an apparent infectious process, then the "charge" for whatever bone he removed for culture would be incorporated in the procedure as a whole, and would not be a separate charge.
