Looking for direction of the following:
Patient brought the operating room and placed in spine position.
After general tracheal anesthesia was placed in dorsolithotomy position and Trendelenburg.
He was prepped and draped in a sterile fashion.
We injected quarter percent Marcaine with epi into the left groin overlying the abscess cavities which it previously had small openings to drain
We incised the whole left groin region, which was affected between the left inner thigh and scrotum down into the perineal mass
No significant purulent pockets persisted
We copiously irrigated with Ancef and gentamicin irrigation
Meticulous hemostasis was achieved with electrocautery
We took a biopsy of the pedunculated a left perineal mass and got hemostasis with electrocautery
At the end of the procedure wound care nurse was applying the dressings
Patient was then to be awakened in stable condition at this point after finalization of the dressings per wound care

We did minimal debridement and essentially incised the left groin
We excised a 2 cm portion of the perineal mass for pathology

Thank you!

look at code 27047 (Excision, tumor, pelvis and hip area; subcutaneous tissue) or 27048 (... deep, subfascial, intramuscular) depending on its location. In this particular anatomy, the pelvic area includes and encompasses the perineum.

The title states peritoneal but the body of your post states perineum.
"Biopsy of the pedunculated a left perineal mass" would to me possibly indicate a skin procedure but they describe a lot of incision (incised the whole left groin). Was there a closure??
I can't determine from this information the depth of the mass, and would need to query or discuss with provider.
