Are you able to bill the anesthesia cross code for the services provided where the anesthesiologist is only monitoring vital signs during the procedure?

Hi there, if the anesthesia provider did all of the other work associated with an anesthesia service then it sounds like they performed monitored anesthesia care. You do bill it as an anesthesia service with the appropriate modifier. Just make sure the note shows the reason MAC was medically necessary and be prepared to appeal a denial.
