I want to know if I have the choice to bill regular codes ie:99212, 99213 with 11721 or 11720 instead of the G-codes for Medicare.

I dont think you really have a "choice" - if your doc is doing routine nailcare on a patient who has been dx with diabetic neuropathy and LOPS, then you should be using the g code, assuming other criteria has been met.

If you have no dx of LOPS then you should use the cpt codes.

If patient comes to your offices w/ a dx of LOPS, I would be requesting the report of testing done to determine the LOPS from whatever doctor they saw that did the testing, I also believe the testing has to be done repeatedly and randomly to qualify.

you may also have some LCD's on this subject

What G codes are you referring to and what are they used for? I'm a CPC-A and new to coding podiatry. I'm worried I've gotten in over my head :(
