I have a question for certified billers and coders. We have an NP at our office that happens to work for 2 physicians, a PCP and a SPECIALTY. He rounds daily at a long term stay facility for the PCP. For our SPECIALITY physician, he works everyday as well. It happens to be that the PCP needs to consult our specialty physician for a wound. Our physician will do the initial consult but the follow ups will be done for that same patient but by the NP. Can we bill the NP under two different physicians, for the same DOS?
