I am trying to bill Medicare for a PA and we keep receiving rejections stating they will not pay for that type of provider on radiology procedures. Per Medicare the PA needs to be supervised and we need to show that in the file. After researching it we found what we believed would be required, an attending phy, which is the MD, which shows as a DQ qualifier in the electronic file. We are still getting rejected for the PA not allowed to do the procdure. The main code we are trying to bill is a 76942, is there something else we should be adding? Maybe a modifer? I am at my wits end trying to figure this out and any help would be greatly appreciated.
