Behavioral Health Billing
Scenario: Client comes in to our facility and sees a Clinician for Psychotherapy. Client continues to be seen for Psychotherapy and eventually gets referred to our MEDSOM unit. Client is scheduled to see our MD or NP. Can that MD or NP bill as a new patient since this is the first time they're seeing this client? Or, is that client considered established because they've already been seen @ this same facility by another provider? HELP!!
