I was wondering if anyone else if having commercial payor issues when billing a locum phys? One of our doctors left the practice and we are using him as the locum phys for 60 days (as per Medicare guidelines) and BCBS is stating that there are still unprocessed claims after the doctors term date from our facility and they were wondering why we were using hm as a locum when our physician termed the practice. We are using mod Q6 on all charges.

In Rhode Island, the only payers that accept Q6 modifier are Medicare and Coventry Health Care. RI Blue specifically instructed us to file claims w/o Q6.
